ECW NEWS FOR: TUESDAY JULY 14, 1998

CHRIS CANDIDO INJURED!- Chris Candido had to be taken to the hospital and to the emergency room immediatly following his match with Lance Storm against Sabu and Rob Van Dam on Sunday night in Revere, Mass. Candido had become the victim of "Rolling Thunder" and during the Sabu leg drop, he damaged part of his ear and caused severe bleeding from it. It was quite evident to Sabu what had happened and they quickly went to the finish of the match to end it quickly for Candido's sake. Afterwards, doctors and ECW officials attended to Chris until they could take him to the back and put him on an ambulance, he was accompainied by Sunny and Shane Douglas. He was rushed to a local hospital for examination and it appeared that he did not suffer and internal damage to this injury and it was mainly set around the lobe of his ear. No hearing loss or loss of his equilibrium will happen. He got 10 stiches for his cut and was released that night. People seeing him later at the hotel told us that he said he was ok and will be working this weekend coming up. Credit: Dave Scherer.

BOMB MATCH DELAYED!- The rumored Bomb Match that has been said to take place on Aug 9 from the Babe Ruth Baseball Field in Trenton Pa will NOT be happening. ECW has no intention of running a bomb match without promoting it at least 60 days in advance and probably more like 90-120 days. They are still looking for an outdoor venue to run the show, most likly it will be in New Jersey because ECW has better connections with the Board of Education, State and Local Government for New Jersey, and Fire Laws that are necessary to clear for a match of this nature.

ECW TV REPORT FOR 7-8-98

TWENTY FOUR DAYS TIL DAYTON! If you have not made your plans as yet, make em soon- this is going to be an event youre not going to want to miss- its ECWs HeatWave 98 LIVE from the Hara Arena in the aforementioned Dayton Ohio. Ticket information comes up at the end of the report or you can get tickets online at TicketMaster.com. Tonights show was taped this past Friday night at the Elks Lodge in the aptly named Queens section of New York.

BUT- before we head there, we relive the end of last weeks show in which Sabu and Mr Monday Night captured the ECW tag team championship-- then comments from Fonsie and MR Monday night are up and of course its the reason we watch ECW is to see Rob - this time hes gonna work even harder and while Rob talks about himself, Fonsie is covering for him and of course Rob can handle a much harder push- when you think of Rob Van Dam, think of push- he even went out and got a belt for his partner- who would do such a thing, , well Rob, cause hes the show as tonight, Its the Rob Van Dam show...

Should be noted in the opening sequence that it wasnt all Rob, but a segment in which Buh Buh gets a shopping cart in the nuts from Tommy Dreamer was added and then a segment with the Blue Meanie dancing was in, instead of the usual shot of Buelah on top of the ladder. Hmmm...

Joey opens the show by bringing out the Franchise as now Shane is the colour commentator. Shane loves the smell of the building, but he can though smell a pussy named Taz, which of course that brings out the human suplex machine. And also Bam Bam and Candido and Lance Storm are out as well. Storm talks about how hed still be the tag team champion, if someone wouldnt have gotten pinned. He tells Taz that the belt he has dont mean shit. Taz slaps Lance telling him its a messsage from New York to Canada and we get an impromptu match - not long before Taz suplexes Lance and he gets folded up like an accordian and then an almost decapitating clothesline and now Taz just toying with Storm and then its the tbone Tazplex. But then Lance back up and almost gets the pin, but only a 2 count-- then Lance gets caught and he taps out and Taz gets the win in this impromptu match. After the match Bigelow and Taz jawing at each other but it looks like this time theyre just gonna wait until Sunday August 2nd and the PPV.

Back to the action, Joey about to be joined by Shane, but then Shane says hes not going to take any sides- so he wants to shoot on Taz talk nice and slow so Taz can understand. Shane mainly is ragging on the fact that Shane has the real world title belt and the most beautiful woman- but there is one thing that Bigelow has that is more than a belt and that is Tazs ego since what happened at Living Dangerously. Well Shane has promised that Taz is going through the ring again at HeatWave.

Back to more from last week and we relive the great match between Masato Tanaka and Balls Mahoney in a battle of chairshots and respect- Joey talking about the impact that Tanaka has made and hes been followed over by Mike Awesome to NY- its one of the biggest fueds in FMW . Awesome is the guy who at the first night the line was crossed damn near killed JT Smith. These two have had some memorable matches in Japan. Awesome certainly has the size advantage but its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog. Both men going toe to toe in this one early on.Awesome flies out of the ring, landing on Tanaka and both men out of the ring now- Awesome now with a chair sending Tanaka into the railing- Awesome with the chair again and he seems to have felled Tanaka who is then thrown back into the ring.

Back in the ring now, Awesome using that chair and nails Tanaka twice, but he wont got down, then Tanaka with a german suplex and then he connects with that elbow and clothesline takes down Awesome, but only a 2 count. Tanaka with a tornado DDT, but that is only a 2 count as well. Awesome with another chair shot and then he has him for the Awesome bomb on the chair and Tanaka kicks out again-- Awesome down from the top rope and Tanaka kicks out even again-- Tanaka wriggles free from a bomb attempt, but 2nd time works-- AWesome getting the mats up off the floor and then he gets the table, but back in the ring as Awesome trying to get him down so he can put him through the table, Tanaka connects with the roaring elbow adn gets the win, but after the match, its Mike Awesome putting Tanaka through the table with the Awesome bomb.

Tanaka being helped to the back , but he did get the victory, its Spike Dudley in what is an interesting match from the Arena in which he takes on Lance Wrights latest charge, Ulf Herman. Ulf misses two axehandles, then Spike goes downstairs and then connects with the acid drop and gets the win on Ulf then from there- its also the Equalizer and Mr Wright who gets it done in less than a minute-!

Images of Buelahs history in ECW in which the anguish of Tommy shown- that sure didnt affect Francine and she can move her neck around fine. Francine loved every minute of it, shes the winner and Beulahs the loser- and she could give a rats ass right now, but Joey cant believe that Francine made those comments on television.

Last week on ECW- Sandman and Dreamer revealed that the mystery partner was Onita and that was a big compliment that was to Dreamer and Sandman, but then again he wasnt the perfect partner as though- Sandman nailed by Onita and it seems as though Onita has double crossed them allowing the Dudleys to escape again.

That brings us to Joel theres a monster in my pants and he does a dirty dance Gernter and the rest of the Dudleys. Buh Buh with the mic, that Dreamer and Sandman all full of surprises, they have a surprise partner at the show tonight- they hit the music and they play Desperado and the people think that Terry Funk- well he does live on the double Cross- but no, Buh Buh got em the stupid new york marks bought it.

After Joel makes the announcements for the Dudleys- out comes New Jack and Kronus - Dudleys cut off Kronus but that doesnt stop New Jacks trash can full of fun. But as New Jack with teh guitar, but then Jack Victory comes up from behind, but New Jack is ready and connects with that guitar- then the brawling continues-- duriing the match Shane talking about how the violence in ECW is glorified, but also how he doesnt like that since theyre also glorifying someone like Taz and as Tommy Dreamer hits the ring, Taz hits the broadcast area adn we have a brawl as Bigelow and Taz fight in the area, Dreamer in the ring with DVon in the tree of woe in his face with the wire- Dreamer connects and Joey wonders if its all Buelahs revenge?
